A new building was constructed on the site of the Antwerp University Hospital, situated between the existing hospital and the care hotel. The building consists of two parallel wings, connected by a central volume that houses circulation areas, technical spaces, and shafts. Between the two wings, there is a pleasant green outdoor space with a pathway leading to the building, and terraces are located on the southern side. For us, this project is a perfect example of combining various materials (ceramic, coated aluminum, wood, fiber cement). Each material, with its specific characteristics and applications, is harmoniously integrated.
