Residentie Riva
Peaceful living surrounded by greenery and water. Living comfort starts with an attractive location. The unique location of this lot forms the starting point for the development of a luxury concept consisting of 14 new-build flats. The building was designed as transparent as possible and provided with a small-scale façade construction with optimal façade distribution. The alternating play of staggered surfaces and open and closed sections creates an optically small-scale building with a lot of variation and articulation. By finishing it all in a sober and natural material palette, this building fits in seamlessly with the allotment and the canal. Unusual materials were used for the façade finishing. The closed façade surfaces are finished in a variety of white and black aluminium cassettes alternating with sand-coloured large-format ceramic tiles. The choice of ceramic cladding instead of natural stone was a logical consequence of the desired joint pattern: as few joints as possible and preferably only vertical ones. To achieve the most solid appearance possible, all corner joints of the ceramic cladding were mitred. The terraces are bordered by a transparent glass balustrade without a top rail.
